About the Scheme

Launched to support traditional family-based trades (where skills are passed down through generations), the PM Vishwakarma Yojana provides a complete ecosystem of support: recognition, skill upgrades, tools, and cheap business loans.

The Exact 18 Eligible Trades (Check carefully)

If your profession is not on this specific list, your application will be instantly rejected:

  1. Carpenter (Suthar)
  2. Boat Maker
  3. Armourer
  4. Blacksmith (Lohar)
  5. Hammer and Tool Kit Maker
  6. Locksmith
  7. Goldsmith (Sonar)
  8. Potter (Kumhaar)
  9. Sculptor / Stone Carver (Moortikar)
  10. Stone Breaker
  11. Cobbler/Shoesmith (Charmkar)
  12. Mason (Rajmistri)

  18. Tailor (Darzi) / Fishing Net Maker

Exact Benefits & Financials

  • The ₹15,000 Toolkit (Insider Detail): The government does NOT put ₹15,000 cash into your bank account. To prevent misuse, they issue a digital e-Voucher (e-RUPI). You can only use this voucher at authorized stores to buy modern tools for your trade.
  • Training Stipend: You will undergo 5–7 days of basic skill training. You are paid a stipend of ₹500 per day for attending.
  • The 5% Loan: First Phase: You get a collateral-free loan of up to ₹1 Lakh to expand your business (18 months to repay). Second Phase: After repaying the first loan, you can take up to ₹2 Lakh (30 months to repay). The Math:* The bank charges standard interest, but the government pays the difference (subvention) so that the artisan only pays a flat 5% interest.

Eligibility & Hidden Rules

  • Age: Minimum 18 years.
  • Family Rule: The benefit is restricted to one person per family (husband, wife, and unmarried children constitute a family).
  • The Exclusion Clause (Crucial): If you have taken loans under similar government credit schemes like PM SVANidhi (street vendor loan), Mudra Yojana, or PMEGP in the last 5 years and have outstanding dues, you are NOT eligible for the Vishwakarma loan.

Exact Navigation Path: How to Apply via CSC

You cannot register yourself on a website at home. The process requires biometric verification.

  1. Take your Aadhaar Card, Bank Passbook, and Aadhaar-linked mobile phone to your nearest Common Service Centre (CSC).
  2. Tell the CSC operator you want to register for PM Vishwakarma.
  3. The operator will scan your fingerprint or iris to complete the Aadhaar biometric authentication.
  4. The operator will select your specific trade from the drop-down list and submit your application.
  5. No Fees: The government pays the CSC operator directly for this service. Do not pay any money to the CSC center for registration.
  6. Your application will then undergo a 3-tier verification (Sarpanch > District > State) before your PM Vishwakarma ID card is generated.

FAQs

I am a modern fashion designer. Can I apply as a Tailor?

The scheme is strictly for traditional, grassroots-level artisans and craftspeople working with their hands and basic tools, not for modern industrialized businesses.

Do I need to pledge my house to get the ₹3 Lakh loan?

No. This is a "Collateral-Free" loan under the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE). The bank cannot ask you for property papers or gold as security.
